about
I was inspired to compose this song after taking part in the incredible and inspiring EcoSattva Training offered by One Earth Sangha. It is a musical version of the EcoSattva Vows shared at the end of the training.
I hope you find it to be a helpful tool in your practice and your personal and collective exploration of the intersection between climate chaos, social engagement, activism, and spiritual practice.
Perhaps we shall sing it together some day!
If you choose to pay for the song, note that I will be donating any profit to One Earth Sangha to support their very important work. To learn about other ways to support this amazing group and get involved, visit their web site at www.oneearthsangha.org.

lyrics
Confirming our commitment
to health, vitality
and ease for all beings
seen and unseen
near and far
born and yet-to-be-born
Based on my love of the world and understanding of deep interdependence of all things, I vow...
To live in Earth more lightly and less violently
in the food, products and energy I consume
To commit myself daily to the healing of the world
and the welfare of all beings
To discern and replace human systems
of oppression and harm
To invite personal discomfort as an opportunity
to share in the challenge of our collective liberation
To draw strength and guidance from the living Earth
from our ancestors and future generations
And from our beautiful sisters and brothers of all species
these things I vow
To offer help to others in their work for the world
and to ask for help when I feel the need
To pursue a daily spiritual practice
that clarifies my mind, strengthens my heart
And supports me in observing
these urgent and joyful vows
Confirming our commitment
to health, vitality
and ease for all beings
seen and unseen
near and far
born and yet-to-be-born
